Blogging From The Start

I didn’t have an up-to-date blog when I found these online courses. And probably like you, I was a little skeptical as to how much these courses could help me. Just being honest. I started with their Free 5-Day Course, which is just that. For 5 days I received an email walking me through the start-up process. From how to pick a niche and a domain name to picking a theme (template) and logo to a brief explanation of affiliate and sponsored posts.
Blogging Course
After that, I was hooked. When I signed up for the May 2019 Blogging Blastoff Course, I received access to the WP Fast Launch. One of the many things I love about these courses is that they release a step each day. So, I didn’t feel overwhelmed with so much information at once.
The Fast Launch is just that. It explains everything you need to know to set up a blogging website. In detail. Step by step. Even those of us who are technically challenged can set up their site using this course as a guide.
Blogging Course is the 30 day course that, again, leads you through everything you need to know to begin blogging and start making money (if you choose). You will receive an email every day for 30 days.
Another cool thing about these courses is that you have access to them for a couple years. You can review the lessons over and over to your hearts content. I really need that.

The hardest thing for me was finding a domain name that said what my vision for my blog was (that wasn’t already taken). I had to come up with several different ways to say LIVE LIFE in 2-5 words. There are so many domain names out there. I really didn’t want to pay for one. (Some people will sell them, if they no longer use them.)
I have been set free from suicidal temptations and recently divorced (again – smirk), I want to share my fun times with everyone. I want to let everyone know how much fun life can be. No matter what you’re going through, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
Gates open to lead us to life outside. They close to keep us safe. It can be physical or metaphorical. When we open our hearts to love, we can find freedom and joy. When we have boundaries, we can guard our hearts in a healthy way. Hence, the name that just wouldn’t let me go – MyOpenGates.com
Then, of course, the logo was next to figure out. Thank God for my brother-in-law, Bobby, who is a gifted graphic artist. I explained to him what I was thinking of and he did the rest.
If you’re having trouble trying to decide on a name or logo, the Facebook group “Start A Money Making Blog” is a good place to get ideas from other bloggers and get opinions on designs. They are very helpful and kind. There is no negativity or rudeness there.
The other thing that took some time for me was to pick out a theme (template). There are soooo many, it can get overwhelming. But the course gave great advice on how to pick one out. The good thing about a theme is that you can change it at any time and it doesn’t take an act of congress to do it. There’s minimal risk, as well, in changing it. (They range anywhere from Free to Thousands of Dollars.)
